GM has unveiled a brand new Buick Electra electrical car idea and claims a spread of over 400 miles with GM’s Ultium battery.
The Buick Electra was a flagship luxurious car for the Buick model for many years and now GM may deliver it again as an electrical automotive.
In Shanghai this week, SAIC-GM, GM’s joint-venture in China, unveiled the ‘Buick Electra idea car’, a smooth new electrical crossover idea.
Whereas the idea was unveiled by GM’s joint-venture in China below the Buick model, the automaker referred to it as a “international idea” and mentioned that it’s “a sneak peek at Buick’s imaginative and prescient for a brand new clever electrical future.”
Sam Basile, government vp of SAIC-GM, commented on the idea unveiling:
“At this time, Buick’s modern considering and creativeness of future clever mobility have reached the following degree with the Electra. I’m assured that the aesthetics and know-how improvements mirrored on the Electra will in the end assist reset customers’ expectations, simply as all earlier Buick ideas have executed.”

Whereas this appears to be like very very like an idea and never a car prepared for manufacturing, GM mentioned that the car can be outfitted with a GM Ultium battery system.

GM claims that the Ultium battery would allow a spread of 660 km (410 miles) and the powertrain would have a 435 kW output:
“The Electra’s Ultium drive unit has high-performance motors in each the entrance and the rear to make sure optimized energy output. It has most energy of 435 kW, enabling 0-100 kilometer per hour acceleration of simply 4.3 seconds.”
They didn’t supply a timeline on bringing a manufacturing model of the car to market, however GM has previously announced plans to bring two electric Buick vehicles to market, an SUV and a CUV.
